The Bicycle Carrier uses Receivers, Adapters and Frame to accommodate two bicycles utilizing special super-grip Willwood Fork Mounts and Short Wheel Trays/ straps. Caution: As of June '07, I've been made aware that the Thule Velo Vise has failed to provide a secure attachment of the front fork for some owners. The Yakima fork has also had problems, especially the lockable type. Investigate for yourself. A Tandem Carrier is also available. Front wheel(s) can be carried with wheel fork(s) mounted on the pre-drilled frame. The Thule Wheel Carrier(545) or the Yakima Wheel Fork (2006 or 2067) is recommended — well-made, best value. Mounting hardware is included. Most others may also be used. A receiver hitch pin lock (1/2 in. dia. for 1 1/4 in. receiver) and a locking cable (6-8 ft. long) add security; many brands are available. These can be purchased at a bicycle shop, automotive or hardware store, towing supply, or on the net. The Bicycle Carrier Frame will also carry luggage and/or skis: Thule Vertical Ski Carrier (562), Flat Top (724), or Yakima Powder Hound (3044), Lift Ticket (3062).
